n. I thought VoIP was free?

While there are some companies offering free calling services using VoIP technology, these services have many disadvantages:
- These services are PC-to-PC based - you must have a PC on to use the services, and the process to make a call is not simple - you cant just dial a telephone number.
- You can only call other customers of the free calling service to receive free calls. So, if your grandmother is not online, you can't call her.
- The technology is peer-to-peer. This means that your computer - and your bandwidth - may become a "hub" for another person to make a call.
- Call quality - VOZ's is call quality far exceeds that of free calling plans.
- You cannot dial 911 with a free calling service.
- All of the features bundled in with VOZ's service - such as call forwarding, calling waiting, music-on-hold, voicemail, etc. are non existent in a free calling service.

While such services may be fun to use at times, they are not a replacement for your home phone service. VOZ is that replacement.
